Privacy Policy

Intervu is built local-first. Your interview prep — the documents you upload, your recorded answers, and your transcripts — stays on your own device. We designed it so the most sensitive parts of your job search never need to leave your computer.

What stays on your device

By default, these live only on your Mac, PC, or Linux machine and are never uploaded to us:

• Your uploaded documents (job descriptions, résumés, company notes).
• Your microphone audio and the recordings of your practice sessions.
• Your transcripts, scores, feedback, and readiness history.

Speech-to-text and the free, on-device interview voices run locally on your machine. The app stores its data in your operating system's standard app-data folder.

What's sent to the cloud, and when

Some features need an online service to work. When you use them, only the data needed for that feature is sent — not your whole profile:

• AI question generation, research, and grading. The relevant text (for example a job description, your notes, or a transcript to be graded) is sent to the AI provider you choose — our hosted models, or your own key for a third-party provider you configure. Company/role research may also run a web search to gather public information.
• Premium cloud voices (Pro). If you pick a premium voice, the text to be spoken is sent to that voice provider to synthesize audio. The free on-device voices send nothing.
• Account & billing (Pro only). Creating a Pro account and paying are handled through our authentication and payment processors. We never see or store your full card details.
• App updates. The app periodically checks a version file on our servers so it can update itself.

Analytics & cookies

On this website only, and only if you accept on the consent banner, we use privacy-friendly product analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager, and PostHog) to understand which pages help people get ready and where the download flow can be better. If you decline, none of it loads. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.

These tools may set cookies or local storage and collect standard, non-identifying data such as pages viewed, approximate region, device/browser type, and whether a download was started. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't upload your documents or recordings for advertising or model training.
• We don't require an account to practice for free.

Your choices

Because your prep data is stored locally, you control it directly: delete an opportunity, a session, or the app's data folder and it's gone from your device. For any account you create, you can request access or deletion by contacting us.

Children

Intervu isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and, for material changes, note it on the site.
